The interdisciplinary summer school is intended for potsgraduate students, teachers and researchers specilizing in educational technology. The aim of the summer school is to focus on both technical and educational aspects of the field. The activities in the summer school are based on collaborative projects. Projects are done in heterogeneous groups in order to foster multi-disciplinary approaches into educational technology design. Lectures give inspiration and novel ides to the students' work.

The program of the summer school in 2004 consists of three tracks:

  • Workshop on Digital Media and Cultural Issues; design and production of culturally sensitive and contextualised digital learning environments and materials.
  • Techniques for Adaptation; Theories, architecture and implementation issues for adaptation in learning systems.
  • Kids' Club Community; people working for Kids' Club track at ICALT 2004.

Fee includes; lectures, tutoring, materials, bus transportation to Mekrijärvi on Sunday evening, August 22, and transportation back to Joensuu on Friday afternoon, August 27, accomodation, two meals a day, breakfast, evening snack, and social programme (sauna is available every day).
