An International Summer School on Educational Technology is organised in conjunction with the 4th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies (ICALT 2004), Joensuu, Finland. The summer school will be held at the Mekrijärvi Research Station of the University of Joensuu, in the easternmost community in Finland, some 70 km from the town of Joensuu.
The summer school offers an excellent opportunity for an intensive week of working with Phd students and research fellows with various academic backgrounds. The summer school is a forum for meeting new people and really get acquintend with them. It is also a place to start deep collaboration between scholars working at the similar issues.
This is the third time the summer school will be organized. Previous years, PhD students and fellow academics from different parts of the world and with variety backgrounds, have been mentored by lecturers Dr. Piet Kommers (University of Twente, the Netherlands), Dr. Looi-Chee Kit (National University of Singapore), Prof. Kinshuk (Massey University, New Zealand), Dr. Esko Kähkönen (University of Joensuu), and Prof. Erkki Sutinen (University of Joensuu).
