PUMS Research Institutes

Digital Media Institute is the administrative PUMS research organisation. The institute is part of Tampere University of Technology. The other research institutes taking part in the PUMS project are:

• FENIX technology programme news published an article about beginning of the PUMS in 2003-10-03
• The University of Tampere news forum published an article about beginning of the PUMS project.
• A one page article about speech technology titled "Puheohjaus tulee hissiin ja kännykkään" (engl. Speech control soon enabled in elevator and cell phone) was published 23rd Oct 2004 in a Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat. Almost identical article can also be found in the Internet at http://www.turunsanomat.fi/osasto/?ts=1,4,0,0,186821,2004-10-23.
  In addition, the paper had a short article titled "Lähes kaikki voisi toimia puheella" (engl. Almost anything could be controlled with speech), and quite a large sketch of Jorma Ollila and Antti Herlin were test driving a speech controlled elevator.
