University of Joensuu

• Founded 1969
• Two campuses areas:
  • Joensuu campus and
  • Savonlinna campus
• Six faculties and nine independent units

• The staff comprises about 1200 people, of whom 130 work on the Savonlinna campus.
• Over 7200 students, of whom 1100 are on the Savonlinna campus.
• Approximately 1200 new students annually

Department of Computer Science

• Taeching began at 1974
