Blogs in elections?

Elections are drawing nearer! Again, newspapers full of stupid advertisments, oversized billboards catching the attention of careless drivers, maybe even they will buy off the great cows from milk bottles and replace them by the happy faces of the candiates!

Once, I was looking for a location of an office of one agency. The image at the bottom of this entry was presented by their ‘Contact information’ link. It took me quite a while to realize what am I gazing at. “Our office is located where the green arrow points.”

Recently, I was drifting around our kitchen. At one minute I had in my hands a plastic box used for a deep freezing and warming the food in the micro. Everything was fine except the plastic lid. On one side of that the warning “PLEASE TAKE OFF LID BEFORE USING IN MICROWAVE” protects users against blowing up their oven. Unfortunately, the text is placed on the inside of the lid.

I believe that everything can be better…(however, I am not a perfectionist). Although the statements might represent some kind of contradiction, notice, on the other hand, how optimistic announcement to the World it is! :)

In our everyday lives we use things (and also we do) that can be improved and sometimes we have resigned to do so. Things get complicated. Once in a while we accept them without giving a try to improve them, without an attempt to reject the solution somebody gave us. You have certainly been thinking about your home appliances, car dashboard, (getting-smaller) mobile phone, saying ‘who (the hell) designed this (meter, knob, web page, oven, life) to work (look, function, behave) so badly?’ I want to improve them to serve us better, to save our time, nerves, money, energy. Not necessarily we only have to talk about man-machine interfaces, I am interested in all human interactions in general. Let’s improve them!
