Summer (yes, almost) school of educational technology is now almost over. I’d like to thank everybody participating the event. It has been very nice to have interesting sessions as well as professional guidance from a number of specialists. In this time, the supervision has really been individual: professor/PhD -student ratio has been almost 1:1. We have had interesting talks at sauna as well as during breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon coffee, dinner, as well as supper. As it can be seen, we have not been starving here.
Thanks once again!
Ilkka, I am almost sure you are talking about everything else being interesting but the beginning of that week. Can you confirm?
Call me spoiler, but the courses were very weak, not relevant, the first one taught in a very flat and unprofessional way. At best, Monday was extremely boring.
While the rest of the week has been much better, I think if there would be a visitor from outside the group, s/he would demand money back.
Roman, definitely the best things on Monday were meals and smoke sauna. As you thought, with interesting sessions I meant especially those that Piet gave at the end of the week, as well as discussion sessions (“Hyde Park” and “PhD Clinic”). I agree with you that the lectures on Monday were… well… hmm… let’s say that we should expect to get something else in this kind of meeting. What it comes to Cyberschool sessions, I was already quite familiar with the technology presented there so I personally didn’t get very much out from that either.
