Roskilde SOLD OUT!

God save the love to music Finns have. Apart from having an amazing music devotion, they also saved my trip to Roskilde.

Let me explain myself; I got my plane tickets to attend this year’s Roskilde Festival, and so did my friends in Spain. But none of us did buy a ticket for the festival itself… we were just going to buy them when we saw that dreaded notice in the webpage of the festival….SOLD OUT. Not a nice feeling finding yourself in Roskilde and not getting into the festival to see/hear The National (do listen to them at least!). After some online and offline wandering (my brother visited Roskilde Festival offices at Copenhagen, here and there, I reached the Elävän musiikin yhdistys ry(Elmu.fi) homepage. Elmu is a musicians asocciation promoting live music in Helsinki. After deciphering what their travels page said about the festival at Roskilde, I came to the conclusion that they had tickets to sell!!

Long story short, after some emails and nervous phone calls to Elmu people, I have just paid for the festival tickets. Hurrai for Finns. Now, let’s hope tickets come to papa.

Lessons learnt:
+Buy your tickets in advance
+Finnish language can be useful sometimes
+Don’t panic

UPDATE The tickets have arrived, the look legit. There we go!!
