TEDC 2008 KAMPALA-UGANDA
Conference Venue
Makerere University:
The conference will take place at beautiful Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. The first and third day of the conference will be held with invited keynote speakers and conference speakers in the conference room of the Food Science and Technology building. Also, poster and demonstration sessions will take place during the first day.
Outreach programme:
The second day of the conference is dedicated to an outreach programme for the participants, during which there will be visits to local schools, businesses, government, hospitals, and orphanages in rural areas in order to obtain first hand experience and inspiration for TEDC issues. This should provide inspiration to the participants for the evening discussions on how to progress in development of technology for educational purposes and local business in developing countries
Recreation and Refreshment:
Enjoyable recreation options will also be available for participants, based on interest and availability.
For example, there are the burial grounds for the kings of Buganda and the Uganda Museum. Also there will be night entertainment and restaurant possibilities around Kampala. Specialized tour packages around Uganda will also be available. Visitors to Uganda enjoy its waterfalls, forests, national parks, cultural centers, safaris and much more.
