S2 and S3 Visualization Tools

Computations in spreadsheets are hard to grasp and consequently many
errors remain unnoticed. The problem with the hidden errors lies in
the invisibility of the structure of calculations. The S2 and S3
Visualization tools consist of Excel macros that can be used to
superimpose a graphical visualization on the spreadsheet display.

For information on the visualization tools, see the 00ReadMe-files
of the zip-packages, and read "Modeling Spreadsheet Audit: A Rigorous
Approach to Automatic Visualization" by Jorma Sajaniemi (University
of Joensuu, Department of Computer Science, Report A-1998-5; an
enhanced version to appear in the Journal of Visual Languages and
Computing).

The visualization tools are prototype systems and should not be used
for anything but experimentation.
