Content

The aim of this course is to familiarize students with topics related to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for development. The course concentrates on the challenges of ICTs for developing countries. Themes of the course include the basics of developmental steps of ICT, the role of ICT in different operational environments, the social effects of ICT, teaching and learning in context, Information Systems for development, and evaluation of ICT projects. Objectives

After the course the student has a general understanding of context related issues of ICT, is able to identify the basic needs of ICT in different environments, and is aware if the local challenges of ICT in the globalizing world. 

Methods

Students will participate (online)seminars, study online materials, complete activating assignments, and carry out intercultural projects.
