Contents:

Teaching methods of information and communication technology (ICT), computer supported tools, useful software and supportive instruments for teaching.

Modern learning environments: ICT and creative learning; environmental architecture and learning, Components of the environment, ICT and development of teaching; and ICT and education in the future.


Goals:

  • to learn how to use Information and Communication Technology from the point of educational technology
  • to become acquainted with different teaching and learning methods of educational technology
  • to become acquainted with different teaching and learning tools, software and instruments of educational technology
  • to become acquainted with different possibilities of educational technology
  • to become acquainted with the basic computer maintenance questions of schools


Passing the course

General:
  • Prerequisites: cum laude approbatur in computer science registered before attending the course,
  • a maximum of 24 students per course,
  • students in IT Teacher Programme take priority, and
  • WebCT -learning platform will be used.

 

Lectures:  Conversational lectures (Erkki Sutinen, in English, 40 hours + 8 hours web-based) are based on the course book Meisalo, V., Sutinen, E. ja Tarhio, J.:Modernit oppimisympäristöt (Modern Learning Environments, in Finnish), 2003

Partly web lectures using WebCT.

 

Demo groups:   Obligatiory 24 hours, part of them are web-based (Sirpa Torvinen, Mikko Vesisenaho)
