How to pass?
- listening the lectures (36 hours)

doing an assignment that is connected both to themes of the course and to your own
work / research / hobby / other interest
- assignment has got three individual parts:
- poster presentation of the subject, due date: 21st of October
- demonstration of software, due date: 22nd of November
- paper presentation, due date: 22nd of November
- writing a learning portfolio during the
course
- learning porfolio is an individual reflection about
goals and progress during the course
- learning portfolio can contain for example ideas about how to
apply the course content in other context
- it suggested that you write the portfolio throuht the
course
- feedback to the lecturers
- opportunity for you to participate in the development of
the course in future
- some questions that can be prosessed when writing a
portfolio
- what do I know about Information Retrieval?
- what are my goals?
- what I have done?
- am I satisfied with my work?
- what grade would I give to my self?
- the structure of the portfolio will be explained in exercises
- due date: 22nd of November
Grading criteria
The final course grade will be formed according to following criterias

| Poster Presentation | 20 % |
| Software Demonstration | 20 % |
In order to pass the course you must complete all
of the assignments acceptably
