Parallel Computing
Research in parallel computing at the University of Joensuu
Research of parallel computing is important, because in the long run it
is the most promising way of increasing computing power. However,
exploiting parallelism has proved out to be more difficult than expected.
There have been partial successes in special purpose computing, but there is
no unanimosity about the right approach to general purpose computing.
Therefore, research of models of parallel computing is needed.
At the Department of Computer Science of the University of Joensuu,
