Image Compression Research

The objective of the research is to develop image compression methods for image storage, visual data communication, and digital publishing. We focus on lossless and near-lossless context-based compression, applied to photographic images and to computer generated images with limited number of colors. Special attention is paid to real-time applications using digital maps.
