Use of Dictionary in Exams
The foreign students in the department of Computer Science at University of
Joensuu are allowed to use their own dictionaries on the following conditions:
-
Electronic dictionaries are prohibited.
-
The dictionary must have the name of its owner on the first page, written
in western alphabet. Everyone has to use his/her own dictionary
in the exam. This is for identification of the owner of the dictionary
in case of unclarities.
-
The dictionary must be absolutely clean, i.e. no markings on the sheets,
except for the name in page one.
-
Dictionaries can be checked during the exam. If any other markings than
the name of the owner are found after the beginning of the exam, the student
will automatically fail the examination. Also the head of the department
will be informed for further actions.
-
The dictionaries may be collected after the exam by staff to be checked
out. In this case, they can be claimed from the department office three
office days after the exam.
-
In case of any uncertainties about these conditions, please contact any
of the assistants of the department before the examination.
