HOW TO APPLY FOR A FINNISH RESIDENCE PERMIT (VISA):

1. Download, print and fill out the following application forms from
http://www.uvi.fi/netcomm/content.asp?article=1991
2. You need to pay an equivalent of 50 euros for the permit so check the
exchange rates for your country against the Euro. Some good currency
convertors can be found at:
a. http://www.oanda.com/convert/classic
b. www.xe.com/ucc/
3. You need to have certified copies of your academic papers, your
passport and the acceptance papers that the university has sent you.
(NOTE: if your passport expiry date falls within the same year, you first need to
renew your passport!)
4. You need to go to the Finnish embassy. Go to
http://formin.finland.fi/public/default.aspx?nodeid=17195&contentlan=2&culture=en-US
and you can find a list of all the Finnish embassies throughout the world.
Locate your country and follow the link to find the embassy address and contact details.
