Round 1: Team Himat had struggling start and Team Radu made a quick checkmate in about 3 minutes. Team Sami gave more serious challenge to Team Pasi but eventually lost after 10 minutes of playing after the opponent captured a rook by pawn, which also promoted to queen. With the help of a knight, the two queens soon created a checkmate on the board.

Round 2: Team Pasi beated Team Himat without a struggle but the other game was eventful. Sami's team dominated with Bishop + Rook against only pawns but failed to nail it. First they lost their bishop and took another strategy by pushing their h-pawn to become a Queen. Even the Queen + Rook combination was not successful and lost the rook against a pawn after a rushed attack. Meanwhile Team Radu kept pushing their d-pawn and after slight manevuers it got promoted before the opponent even noticed. Suddenly it was was Queen-vs-queen with few remaining pawns. Team Radu continued their pawn pushing strategy. After a while the board had only the white a-pawn protected by the king. Black's only option was to keep checking the white king. White defended brilliantly by putting their own queen in between. Black decided to exchange the Queens but after the smoke had cleared, the white pawns had become unstoppable. Black soon resigned after realizing that the queen exchange was a trap. The game took 30 minutes and was the decivive between 2nd and 3rd place.

Round 3: Teams Pasi and Radu played for the 1-2 places. The game was decided early by white's risky Queen check. Black protected his king by putting bishop in between. Meanwhile white's ball went to the forest and Team Pasi outrun the opponent and took the Queen. Team Radu kept on aggressive attacking trying to re-capture the black queen. They almost succeeded with it after Team Pasi carelessly left their queen under attack. However, this was a too big surprise to Team Radu who failed to utilize this opportunity and Team Pasi managed to move their Queen to safety. Game continued without any further problems for black, who attacked the white king by their queen and knight, by supporting bishop far away. Checkmate appeared on the board after about 10 minutes of fight. The other game took much longer. Although Team Sami seemed not to have any real problems winning the game, Team Himat was not giving up the game easily. After 28 minutes of battle the game ended. It was time to sauna.

It was a great fun. Thanks all who participated!
