About CBU
The Finnish-Russian Cross-Border University offers Master’s degree programs in five study fields at distinguished Finnish and Russian universities. There are nine participating universities: four in Finland and five in Russia. Universities in Finland include: the University of Helsinki, the University of Eastern Finland, Lappeenranta University of Technology and the University of Tampere. Universities in Russia include: St. Petersburg’s State University, St. Petersburg’s State Polytechnical University, Petrozavodsk State University, St. Petersburg State Forest Academy and European University at St. Petersburg.
The two-year study programs have been established in accordance with the European Higher Education System. The programs benefit from the long academic experience and the strengths and expertise of the nine participating universities. The studies are strongly oriented to the needs of future international labor markets.
The CBU programs offer graduates special skills for succeeding in the international working environment, especially problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a multi-cultural context, and appreciation for diversity and concern for quality.
The language of studies is English.
Values of the CBU are interdisciplinary, partnership, cultural, national and gender equality, and concern for quality. The program is intended for students interested in:
- acquiring qualifications that meet the requirements of various specialist positions in an international working environment.
- studying in an interdisciplinary and multi-cultural environment
- applying one's academic expertise and skills in practice.
