CBU Student General Requirements and Admission Process


Application period for 2013: January 2 - February 15, 2013 (closed)


University of Eastern Finland: The application and admission for the CBU ICT is combined with the IMPIT MSc programme. The admission criteria for the CBU ICT in 2013 are similar to the IMPIT criteria. Please note that you should apply to the CBU ICT programme with the same application form as IMPIT, using the University Admissions Finland service. You can find the form under the University of Eastern Finland, IMPIT MSc programme, in the UAF system (starting from January 2, 2013).

  • Lappeenranta University of Technology and University of Helsinki do not have call for applications for the CBU ICT programme in 2013
  • If you wish to join the programme in one of the Russian partner universities, please contact the local coordinators.


General Application Procedure for CBU ICT:

  • Electronic and paper based applications (with attachments) are sent to the University Admissions Finland

  • Upon acceptance, individual study plan required (1 ECTS)

Admission Policy

  • Application is sent to the University Admissions Finland (UAF), and after processing, the UAF will send the applications to the chosen primary choice university

  • Common selection meeting: – each university selects its’ own students

  • Total number of students selected into the program at the University of Eastern Finland is 10

  • Third country students can also apply

  • Students from polytechnics and related disciplines

  • Methodological and theoretical bridge studies are determined according to the general practice in each partner university.

Student Selection Criteria

  • Minimum requirements

  • B.Sc. or equivalent in computer science or engineering or related sciences

  • Good knowledge in English language

  • The selection process also considers:

  • Evaluation of earlier studies

  • Grades, relevance

  • Work experience

  • Motivation letter

  • Letters of reference
